Like every February 14 of each year, we celebrate Valentine's Day! And while 2020 has been a special year, it's always nice to celebrate love. So here are my best addresses for this Valentine's Day 2021!

A little history

As with Candlemas, I want to take a look back at this celebration that is so deeply rooted in our habits.

It was in the 14th century that the British established Valentine's Day as the feast of lovers because they believed that birds chose a day to pair. The party then crossed the Atlantic, and the United States began to sell Valentine's Day cards.

Since the 20th century, this festival has spread all over the world by becoming commercial and especially to celebrate love!

The little anecdote, in South Korea, it is the women who offer chocolates and sweets on February 14 to men (friends, family, colleagues). March 14 (called White Day and originally from Japan) is the men's turn to give a little something to the women.

Finally for singles, there is Black Day, April 14. On this day, singles dress in black and eat noodles with friends as they share anecdotes about their celibacy.

A romantic getaway in the village of love

What could be better than a romantic getaway in the village of Saint-Valentin. With its garden of lovers and its post office of love offering cards, flames and special stamps. The whole village comes alive around Valentine's Day. The village hall can also issue you with a diploma of love.

When the restaurants are open, you can taste fabulous French-Japanese dishes.

Valentine's Day treats

Valentine's Day often rhymes with chocolate and candy. Head to Ladurée to discover the house's “Vénus mon amour” collection. A collection of pink colored macaroons in the shape of a heart. We find the Coeur Passion badge in a shimmering bronze color (€ 2.2 per unit) or the rose badge personalized with a message (€ 3 per unit, only from February 12 to 14, 2021).

The Four Seasons George V is also taking part in the party! After its very nice pop-up store for Christmas, the palace is doing it again for Valentine's Day. From February 12, 2021, the pop-up store “That's amore“ will open its doors with 3 exclusive pastries in the spotlight: “le tenebreux“, “l'irrésistible” & “l'extravagant”, created by pastry chef Michael Bartocetti .

Gifts by the Thousands

After Christmas, Valentine's Day is also an opportunity to do and have fun. Head to the LuvBox stores or on the website for a flowery gift that will last over time. We fall for the romantic decoration of the shops but especially for the quality of the boxes of eternal flowers. Pink, red or white, there is something for all tastes and for all budgets.
